What I am about to READ
  • This longer Psalm is a meditation on the failures of the wicked. We are tempted by the wicked and our enemies to be troubled and distressed, but the wicked will not stand; they will not last.

MARK & LEARN

  • All through this Psalm fear of the wicked is contrasted with trust in the Lord. (37:1-3)
  • 37:11, the wicked also tempt us to rise up in anger, but David calls us to a meek humility.

MEDITATE

  •  The last two verses (37:39-40) are the perfect summary of the Psalm, and of the faith it engenders: the Lord is our help.
